Constitution-Free Zone
Written by Chad on October 24th, 2008An interesting map from the ACLU, this map shows areas in the US where people live with without full constitutional protection.
Using data provided by the U.S. Census Bureau, the ACLU has determined that nearly 2/3 of the entire US population (197.4 million people) live within 100 miles of the US land and coastal borders.
The government is assuming extraordinary powers to stop and search individuals within this zone. This is not just about the border: This ” Constitution-Free Zone” includes most of the nation’s largest metropolitan areas.
I would take the information with a grain of salt of course, this can also be highly sensationalized as well.

I thought Bush scrapped the constitution a few years back and recycled it as his personal toilet paper.

That he did. Interestingly enough the disregard for that document is what prompted many people to research and use GIS data. A variety of satellites are used in disasters. One is thoroughly catalogued and cross-referenced here:

If your into high resolution hyperspectral data… here’s a gem.

I was using ENVI but I couldn’t afford the license and the trial expired… if anyone is experienced in hyperspectral image processing I could use some help.
