Full Lunar Eclipse

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

lunar_eclipse.jpgWell, I at least got to watch the first half of the Lunar eclipse, just after there was total eclipse of the Moon, clouds blew in and it started to snow.  But this is the first eclipse I have had a chance to see in years.. because for some reason in Michigan, every time there is something cool happening in the sky.. it is a solid cloud cover.

But actually, just checking again.. the snow and clouds have blown away and I can see the Moon coming out of the Earth’s shadow.

Applications Built Using WorldWind Java

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

A wiki page (There is also a forum page) has been put up so that people can add their WWJava based applications and applets for all to check out.

The list includes the NASA in-house demos as well as applications and applets outside developers have started developing with WWJava.

You should really be sure to check these out: blueMarineGeoFlexy, JSatTrak and World Wind Eclipse RCP Geobrowser

These four WWJava based applications and applets give a fairly well rounded look at most the different ways you can use WWJava in your development.

Total Lunar Eclipse

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

So.. usually I don’t like too much waking up at 5am to get ready to head to work, but today was a good reason to get up on time.  I got to roll over and look out the window and see the Moon just starting to be eclipsed by the Earth.

And by the time I was out the door and heading to work I could watch the Moon become fully eclipsed by the Earth’s shadow.  Which is a rare event for Michigan, it is either too late at night and I just can’t stay awake or it is cloudy and you don’t see anything anyway (The norm whenever Northern Lights are reported this far south).
